Grady gets baptized!

This weekend was a Schatz family first. All four of us flew to Connecticut to finally meet Baby Grady. We made it to Ct. with few problems although we got some pretty bad looks from our fellow passengers when we got on the flight and Stephen (Jr.) started crying and saying "no ai-plane." Luckily, for us and everyone else that was short lived. Stephen was fine once he sat down. It was pretty cute to watch him look out the window in amazement as we took off. It is so fun to watch him become his own person. Georgie who flew with us to Florida a few months ago was content on the flight and even took a little cat nap!  Our trip was also very special for Big Stephen who was asked to be Grady's Godfather, a true honor for him.

I thought this was a great picture of Stephen!

We had a great trip and are so thankful to the Miglietta's (Britt's parents) for putting us all up for the weekend. We can't wait to see Mike, Britt, and Grady again soon!!!!

Painting.

A few weeks ago we got together with some of our favorite friends to work on gifts from the boys for Father's Day. I waited to post these pictures as not to ruin the surprise for big Stephen. This was Stephen's first time painting. He had a blast and big Stephen loved the gifts from his little guy. One of my goals during my time at home with the boys is to encourage them to be more artistic and give them more opportunities to be creative!  This may not sound so hard but for someone who lacks any creative abilities this is a pretty hard task!
Stephen and Eamon getting ready to paint.  Stephen and Eamon are only two weeks apart in age!  They love playing together.

The babies got to spend some floor time together.  Georgie and Ainslee are only a month apart in age!

We love spending time with Sarah, Eamon, and Ainslee!  Hooray for great friends.

Happy Father's Day!

This year was a very special Father's Day for our family as we got to celebrate it for the first time with George.  I am constantly reminded of what a special father Steve is.  Just the other night I stood in the kitchen listening to big Stephen give Little S a bath downstairs.  It was nonstop giggling.  I would hear Little S giggle followed the giggles of Big S.  So happy Father's Day to a partner who loves all his time with his boys and is playful enough for moments like these!

Babies!

I guess it is not hard to figure out that we love babies around here!!!

G, T, and A

"Hey, what is that G?"

A-"I am out of here."

A new toy!

My husband got me a new toy for my birthday, a very fancy camera, which I am still trying very hard to figure out.  I have spent the last few weeks trying to figure out how to use the darn thing.  Here is some of what I have so far!

Luckily, my little guys and our flowers don't mind being the subject of lots of photo shoots.  For my friends out there who might be more advanced them myself, please make suggestions!  I would love some help!

Sarah, the mall, and a "seat"

We got to spend one last day with Sarah before she left to go home.  S, G, and I met Sarah at the mall to wander around and to have lunch.  Stephen was smitten with Sarah who brought him a treat, which further won his little two year old heart (Stephen pronounces treat like seat).  We had a great time with Sarah and loved her visit!!!  We are so lucky to have such wonderful friends who would come so far to surprise and spoil us on our birthday.

Babies love everything!

A big birthday!

Yesterday, I turned 30 and had a really special birthday.  Part of the best part of the whole day was a surprise visit from my dear friend, Sarah, who flew in from Iowa.  She arrived with a sign in hand and whisked me away for what she called the "day of Edie."  Our day started with a massage followed by lunch, shopping, and then a champagne picnic at Meadowlark Botanical Gardens in Vienna.  As always happens with the best of friends, the day was full of laughs and even included a close call with a few hissing ducks at the garden!  It was a perfect girls day and probably the longest break I have gotten from both of the little guys since Georgie was born in September.

Sarah brought me home just in time to get ready for a party thrown by my family that night.  What a fun time and such a treat to have so many friends come for the party!

My husband really knows how to throw a party--with a little help from my Mom and sister!

Despite being a guest we put her to work!
While I was sad to say goodbye to my twenties, they were full of  lots of memories: college, good times, hard but important lessons, marriage, and two babies. I can confidently say that I am so happy with where I am in my life.  I have the support of my family, a loving husband, and the best two little guys I could have ever imagined.  I am lucky to spend most of my time with S and G but also get to be professional and independent.  I have a very lucky and blessed life.  Thank you to all who are so dear to me for making me feel so special on my birthday this year.  What a way to start my 30s!!!

Happy Baby!!!
